The Bay Area Artists Association is celebrating their 17th anniversary this year and is extending this opportunity for artists to exhibit their work in one of the Coast’s oldest and most prestigious art venues. The Coos Art Museum has a 50-plus year history of sponsoring and supporting art programs of enduring quality. The 2009 BAAA Regional Juried Exhibition will be displayed throughout the main floor of the Coos Art Museum.

Eligibility
Artists from the following Oregon counties:Benton, Clackamas, Clatsop, Columbia, Coos, Curry, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Tillamook, Washington and Yamhill or any Bay Area Artist Association member are invited to submit up to three (3) entries of their original two-dimensional or three-dimensional artwork.

General Specifications for Accepted Works of Art
• 2-Dimensional, Oil or Acrylics used like oil.
• 2-Dimensional Collage, drawing, 2-Dimensional mix media, Photography.
• 3-Dimensional: Mixed Media, Jewelry, Sculpture, Wood, Stone, Glass, Metal, Clay, Paper, Pastel.

Accepted 2-Dimensional works are limited to 48” dimensions including the frame and 25 pounds.
Accepted 3-Dimensional works are limited to 48” dimensions and 50 pounds.
All accepted 2-D art work must be framed, wired and ready for hanging; 3-D items must be ready for display prior to arrival.

ART MEDIUMS NOT ALLOWED

• No Giclees, originals only
• Video, film, audio, computer generated digital works (other than photography)
• Furniture
• Leaded Stained Glass

General Rules and Submission Policy

• Artists may submit a total of up to three (3) entries, with a non-refundable fee of $15. for
the first entry and $10. each for the second and third submissions.
• The entries must have been created within the years 2007-2009.
• Art that has been previously exhibited at the Coos Art Museum is NOT eligible.
• Works that are accepted must be the same as the digital images entered.
• If you are submitting work that is part of a series, the submitted piece MUST be unique
and distinguishable from any of your other works of art.

Submissions are to be digital files.

Digital Files must be in a .tif or .jpg format on one CD-ROM.
• Do not insert any identifying information WHATSOEVER within the image file. No artists’
name, title, copyright, etc.
• Max file size of 6 MB, minimum resolution of 150 dpi, maximum resolution of 300 dpi.
• DO NOT SUBMIT SLIDE SHOWS, FLASH FILES, etc.
• ALL CD-ROM’s must be labeled with the artist’s name and title of the work(s).
• NO SUBMISSIONS VIA EMAIL ALLOWED!

Delivery of Accepted Works of Art
All works of art must be hand delivered to Coos Art Museum, 235 Anderson, Coos Bay, Oregon, between dates starting with Thursday, Oct. 1, 2, and 3 between hours 10am to 4pm.

SALES
A 30% commission on any art that is sold will be paid as a donation to the Coos Art Museum.

Important Dates

• August 10, 2009 - Deadline for submissions sent to Coos Art Museum
• August 31, 2009 - Notification to Artists of Acceptance or Decline
• Sept. 11, 2009 - Consent Contract to CAM by accepted artists
• Oct. 1-3, 2009 - Deliver to Coos Art Museum 10am - 4pm
• Oct. 9, 2009 - Reception to artists and give prizes 5-7pm
• Dec. 5-7 - Remove art from Coos Art Museum Sat 4-6, Sun 12-4
